April D Bates

Boothsection1 originalI especially enjoy creating art out of things that seem to have out lived their purpose.  Most every piece of “trash” has serious potential for something amazing, in my eyes.  The clothing on this site was purchased at charity thrift stores and with dye, ink and acrylic paint, I create one-of-a-kind wearable works of art.

I also “renovate” favorite shirts, jeans, jackets, etc.  that have seen better days.  If you have something you’d like me to paint click on the image to view my website and contact me.

Stained glass is hand cut and soldered creating jewlery and window suncatchers. Lampwork beads are hand made from glass rods and strung together to make beautiful bracelets.

SHOROBII

Original art.  Hand printed with water base textile inks.  Entirely fabricated in the USA.  These organic cotton t-shirts are produced from cotton grown on a 100 year old farm, certified organic by the Texas Department of Agriculture.  The cotton is ginned at a Farmers Co-operative Society gin then shipped to North Carolina for spinning and knitting.  The fabric is then sewn into t-shirts by non-sweat shop workers and returned to Sarasota where we hand screen print them and send them to you.  The dyed t-shirts are low impact/low waste water. We also sell un-printed t-shirts because the shirts themselves are so nice and useful.
